BEISEL, MARTHA B., 86, (died) on Memorial Day, May 31, 2004 at Delmar Gardens South;
beloved wife of the late David W. 'Bill' Beisel, Sr.; dear and precious mother of David W. Beisel, Jr. of Fenton and D. Ann Douglas of Imperial; mother-in-law of Cathryn K. Beisel and Michael C. Douglas, Sr.; grandmother of Andrew D. and Eric R. Beisel and Ashley L. and Michael C. Douglas, Jr.; dear sister of Mollie Wolfe of Brighton, CO; daughter of the late Reinhart F. and Katherine E. Beisel (both born in Dreispitz, Russia); special friend of Dolores Anthony and Beverly Morlok-Finger; aunt, cousin, teacher and friend.
Martha was born January 17, 1918 in Denver, C* and grew up on the family farm in Brighton, CO. She earned a Bonfils Scholarship and graduated from Colorado Teachers College (now University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley, C* and befriended noted author, James Michener.
Martha was a lifelong teacher in Colorado and at Daniel Boone and Jackson Park Schools in University City and Craig School in Parkway. She was a proud American and our 'Hero' and loved animals, especially her dogs, cats and horses.
Martha is together again and celebrating a joyous reunion with her husband, parents, sisters, Lydia Beisel and Lillian Toth-Cavender, brother, Alexander Beisel and departed friends and relatives and Martha is probably still teaching.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 514 Argonne, Kirkwood on Wednesday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer's Association, Grace Episcopal Church, Jefferson Hills Lutheran Church, The Humane Society or the St. Louis Zoo.
