Uhrich, Robert H. "Bob"

Born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and passed away in Acworth, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his daughter Helene, brother George and sisters Lou and Genevieve. Survived by his wife of 65 years Janice, daughters Susan Legino (Ron), Marcy Bicknell (Craig), Sharon Heimes (Brian), Nancy, and son David (Cindy). He was grandfather 'Bompa' to Chris (Lydia) and Collin Uhrich, Jennifer and Jordan Legino, David, John and Steven Bicknell, Anna and Mae Heimes, and great-grandson Aiden Uhrich. Bob served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during World War II. He was stationed in the South Pacific and China. He was a career railroader and retired from both Union Pacific and Conrail Corporation. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in civil engineering and he loved construction – especially railroad construction. He was affectionately known to his co-workers as 'Yogi'. He acquired his nickname one night while supervising the cleanup of a derailment and someone noticed that he looked like a big bear walking around – the nickname stuck. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and he will be dearly missed. There will be a private memorial service in Acworth on December 10th. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
