Wayne Kendall II
December 16, 1946 ~ November 28, 2013

Wayne Kendall always had a deep connection with the Native American experience. He was 66 years young when his longtime Spirit Guide, The Big Indian, unexpectedly lead him on The Journey home, leaving his earthly body resting peacefully in his recliner.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Cedaredge Community Center, 140 NW 2nd Street, Cedaredge, Colorado 81413.

Wayne was born to Everett Wayne and Georgia Pearl (Gilbert) Kendall on December 16, 1946 in Brighton, Colorado where he spent his childhood. He furthered his education at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton.

On May 14, 1988, Wayne married Virginia “Gini” Krumback in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Wayne and Gini raised six children together, residing in Brighton, Colorado, for several years before moving to Cedaredge in 1997. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

Wayne, a retired Public Service Co. engineer, was a talented artist and was knowledgeable in a broad range of subjects. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling in his motorhome and always felt most at home in the desert Southwest. He was generous, smart, clever, sarcastic, and a wicked jokester with a great sense of humor. Wayne was a gentle teacher whose craftiness will live on in his sons and grandchildren. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and helpful friend.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Gini Kendall of Cedaredge; four sons and their wives: Brandon (Tami) Kendall of Northglenn, CO; Bryan Kendall of Parker, CO; Greg (Chandra) Kendall of Denver, CO; and Robert (Julie) Engelhardt of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Joy Kendall of Denver, CO and Dona Engelhardt of Pagosa Springs, CO. Wayne is further survived by five grandchildren: Anthony, Oden, Maggie, Michael and Ryan, as well as his beloved four-legged companion Shanti.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Sells; and a sister, Lois Elaine Goletz. In lieu of flowers, Wayne would be grateful for donations made to Friends of Cedaredge Animal Control (FCAC) in his name, P.O. Box 853, Cedaredge, CO 81413.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
