Coroner IDs crane operator killed in entrapment incident in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office identified the crane operator killed in an entrapment incident near the Colorado Springs Airport on Tuesday as 32-year-old Alexander Disher.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said crews responded to the Peak Innovation Park near Embraer Heights and Bud Breckner Boulevard for a technical rescue on Tuesday morning.
CSFD said crews found the operator trapped in the equipment and declared him dead on the scene.
“We want to extend our deepest condolences. These are never easy,” Ashley Franco, with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, said. “And it’s never easy for us either to go out here and respond to a call like this with one of our community members.”
Firefighters were able to recover Disher’s body by approximately 2 p.m. with the help of a heavy rescue unit.
The developer, Opus, shared a statement with KKTV following his death.
“Opus is deeply saddened that a contracted construction worker died yesterday following an accident at our jobsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Our thoughts and prayers are with the worker and their family. Safety is a top priority at Opus, and we are cooperating fully with all investigating authorities.”
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating
