TYLER — Lynda Petersen Tracy, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024 at the age of 75. Born to Christian N. Petersen and Esta L. Petersen, Lynda grew up in Brighton, CO, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the cherished sister of Robert E. Williams, Richard L. Petersen, Myrna F. Sorenson, Kathryn K. Gerhardt, Carol J. Winter, Mary E. Grimes, and James C. Petersen.
Lynda found joy in her roles as a wife and partner, having been married to the late James F. Tracy and later sharing her life with Bill Zink. She is survived by her son Todd M. Tracy and his wife Jackson, as well as her daughter Jennifer E. Hathaway-Dixon and her husband Christopher L. Dixon. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Thomas W. Hathaway, Ian J. Hathaway, Zoe I. Hathaway, Addisyn M. Tracy, Tenleigh M. Tracy, and Christopher J. Tracy, each of whom she adored deeply.
Lynda had a zest for life that took her on many adventures. She enjoyed yachting, traveling, and attending football games, where her enthusiasm was infectious. Professionally, she served as a savings and loans officer, dedicating herself to her work before retiring to focus on her family and passions.
Her journeys took her from Colorado to Texas, Florida, and even Costa Rica, where she embraced new experiences and made lasting memories. Lynda’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
