Annette Marie (Marquez) Garcia
Annette Marie Garcia, the seventh in a family of eight, was born March 28, 1961, to David and Aneda Marquez, and joined her daddy and sister, Lorraine Robinson, on the other side on Thursday, May 31, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Edward Kenneth Garcia II; two children, Kenny and Michelle; five sisters, Beatrice, Julie, Bennie, Rosalie and Nancy; and brother, Andrew.
Annette is also survived by and was the beloved aunt to 21 nieces and nephews who always knew where to go for TLC, homemade food, Halloween costumes, couch beds and great big hugs.
Each and every one of them has special memories of the love and encouragement only she knew how to impart. She didn’t stop with them, her 22 great nieces and nephews also benefited from her special gift of love.
Annette grew up in Henderson and graduated from Brighton High School in 1979.
Annette’s family has always been her highest priority. She was heavily involved in the education of her children, volunteering many hours in their classrooms at Cherry Drive Elementary and actively participating in every aspect of their academic lives. Through her hard work and dedication she was elected as a president of the Parent Teacher Partnership (PTP), where she served multiple years, organizing many events and fundraisers. Her passion for education eventually resulted in a position as a paraprofessional at Cherry Drive Elementary, where she worked until she was physically unable.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Romero Family Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon St., Denver. Annette will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton immediately following funeral services.
