Hello,
In my research I sometimes come up against what genealogists call a "brick wall". This is a situation where you have gone down every research avenue you can think of and that path has led you to a brick wall, instead of results. That is where your research stops until you come up with another research road to travel.
That is the purpose of this little page, I am looking for help from the FallenBulldogs community. Please take a look at the Bulldogs I am researching and see if you have information that might help me. Under each Bulldog I will list the question I am trying to answer. Maybe you have the exact answer to my question. Maybe you have something that might help; parents name, where he/she moved to, who he/she married, when he/she was born/died, siblings names, siblings married name, you would be surprised what small piece of information causes the brick wall to crumble and fall.
If you can help, please e-mail me at [email protected]

General
We live in an increasingly transcient society, in which people move farther and farther away from where they went to school. I am finding that my biggest problem is finding out when a Bulldog has passed away, because they now live in another state. There passing often goes unnoticed by the local papers.
If a friend or relative, who attended Brighton High School, passes away, please let me know. I would really like to make sure they have a memorial on this site. You can contact me at [email protected]

Class of 1916
Gladys Seymour---There is a Gladys Anne Seymour born Sept 1897 in Missouri to Ezra and Mae Seymour. In 1910 they were living in north Denver. In 1920 the family, including now 23 year old Gladys, had moved to the Disappointment Valley in San Miguel County, Colorado. Glady was listed as a teacher. There is also a Gladys Seymour list as a teacher in Henderson, CO for the 1917-1918 school year.
I think that both the Henderson-Gladys and the San Miguel-Gladys are the same person, and they are the 1916 Brighton HIgh School graduate. But, I am not sure enough to list her as such.
After 1920 I find nothing on Gladys. I believe her father died before 1940. Ezra and Mae are in Westminster, CO in 1930. Mae looks to be in San Francisco in 1945. There is an Anne Seymour living at the same address, as Mae, then. But, that is likely Mae's grandaughter from her son, Delmonte.
It is likely that this Gladys died or was married between 1920 and 1930. But, I find no record of either event.
Is the 1910 Gladys Seymour the same one in San Miguel County in 1920? Did the 1920 Gladys marry or did she pass away before 1930? Who did she marry?

Class of 1954
I have a report that Josephine Martinez has passed away. I find several people who could be the correct Josephine. Does anyone know when and where she passed so I can find the correct one?
Class of 1956
I have a report that Carmen Sandoval has passed away. I can find no information about his passing. Does anyone know when and where he might have passed?
Class of 1957
I have a report that Raymond W. Rose has passed away. I have found a Raymond William Rose that passed away in California, who was from Colorado. He is the right age. Can anyone confirm that BHS's Mr Rose moved to California?
I have a report that Betty Koger passed away, but I can find nothing on this. I imagine the records are all under her married name, or she passed away not long after high school. Does anyone know her married name, where or when she may have passed?

Class of 1960
I have a report that Donald Long passed away, but his name is so common I can't find his information in the pool of other Donald Longs.
Has he passed away? When? Where? Parents? Birthdate? Siblings?
Joseph Albert Fernandez passed about Sept 1, 2017. Did he attend BHS? I find an Albert Fernandez that was in Class of 1960.
Same person?

Yearbooks/Annuals
The class annuals/yearbooks are my absolute best resource in not only determining if a person attended BHS and when, but also provide the vast majority of the pictures that I use. I have the three year books from when I attended high school, and my wife and relatives had let me borrow theirs. I have managed to find three others on e-bay. Finally there have been several generous and trusting people who have let me borrow their or their parents yearbooks, so I could photograph them.
But, even with all of that I still have quite a few years where I know nothing about the class. Even though a yearbook might will cover three or four class years, a year like 1985 is completely blank to me, because the yearbooks I have or have pictures of don't include that year.
My goal is to have, or at least have photographed, a yearbook from each class. This will let me have access to not only the senior pictures of a fallen bulldog, but also to have access to those who attended, but did not graduate.
Below is my list of needs. If you can help in any way, I and the Bulldog community would be grateful:
1905-1923 and 1927 to 1946--I was generously allowed to photograph the yearbooks from 1925 and 1926. 1925 is listed as volume two. Making the likely first year of publication, 1924. But, I don't know when they stopped. I am reasonably certain that there was a break in years, before resuming in 1947. There were class lists printed in the Brighton Blade and usually a list of graduates on the Commencement Flyer given out those attending the graduation ceremony.
I need class lists for: 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1936, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, & 1945
I need yearbooks (and even just the fact that they exist) for any class year from 1905 to 1925, 1927, & 1928 to 1946.
Then I need yearbooks (or the loan of one to photograph) for: 1953, 1956, 1961, 1977, 1978, 1993, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, & 2024
One other note, you will notice under the classes above that I do have pictures of our fallen friends for a lot of them. This is because there have been many generous people who have sent photographs (from their yearbooks or other) of specific people, or even an entire senior class. Those have been extremely helpful and the time spent by these individuals to help me out has been invaluable.
