Benjamin Paiz
Benjamin Franklin Paiz died December 15 after a long illness.
He was born June 19, 1938, and grew up in the states of Colorado and Texas before entering the U.S. Army in 1957. He served for 20 years, including several tours in Vietnam as well as in Europe and throughout the world, and received the Bronze Star before being honorably discharged. While in the Army, he worked in the field of electronics, and then attended school to become a systems analyst. After his discharge, he went to work for ARINC Research in Washington, D.C.
In retirement, he spent time working in his garden and playing racquetball and tennis. One of the things he enjoyed most was writing poetry. His poem, Time In Time, was published in the National Library of Poetry.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Raymond (Susie) Paiz; four grandchildren; three sisters, Sara Gonzales of Denver, Colo., and Mary Paiz and Doris (Ronald) Trent, both of Brighton, Colo.; two brothers, Tony (Carol) Paiz of Brighton, Colo. and Frederick Paiz of Helendale, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service followed by interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
