Betty Celeste Amos of Longmont died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was 88.
Betty was born Aug. 27, 1918, to Harry and Rose (Shafer) Knoop in Brighton.
She graduated from high school in Brighton and then graduated from the Colorado Women’s College in Denver, majoring in music.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Betty married Vinton C. Amos in Brighton on Jan. 22, 1942.
She lived all of her life in Brighton until moving to Longmont in December of 1997 to be closer to her daughter, due to health reasons.
Mrs. Amos made her first home in Longmont at Cinnamon Park Assisted Living for eight years — these were very happy times for her. She spent the last year at Life Care Center of Longmont.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Carroll Knoop and his wife “Billie.”
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthiann Glardon and husband David of Longmont; two sons, John Amos and wife Anna of San Antonio, Texas, and Lyle Amos of Brighton; five grandchildren, Jared Glardon and wife Tammy of Longmont, Nathan Glardon of Fleming, Colo., and Vicente, Joaquin and Mari Elena Amos of San Antonio, Texas; five great-granddaughters, Ashley Rose, Cierra Jean, Brittanni, Savannah and Tamantha of Longmont; one special nephew, Stanley Knoop and wife Joyce of Brighton; and her special niece, Charlene Hopkins of Sunnyvale, Calif.
The family wishes to have private services. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton.
