Hyrum man dies after hay trailer accident
A Hyrum man died Friday after he was injured by a hay trailer while feeding cattle, Cache County Sheriff's officials say.
William Arnold , 65, was found by his wife, Dianne, who went looking for him when he did not return to their Mount Sterling-area home on time, according to Lt. Chad Jensen.
Cache County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Arnold property at about 8 p.m. Friday.
"The victim was behind his home in Mount Sterling feeding cattle," Jensen said. "He apparently had his tractor in the idle position and was on the hay trailer feeding when he fell off and was run over by the trailer."
Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene.
An obituary submitted by his family said Arnold , who was known as "Bill," was a top bull rider in his youth and had "great love, passion and respect" for ranching and the cowboy life."
Bill and Dianne Arnold have lived in Cache Valley since about 1998, according to the obituary, after living in Nebraska and Colorado for several years.
