A Fort Lupton man was found dead Sunday after his pickup apparently went off Berthoud Pass, authorities said.
The man was identified as Jerry J. Bohlender , 59.
He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the 1997 Ford F-350, said Colorado State Patrol Capt. Steve Smee. The truck was going uphill on U.S. 40, westbound on a straightaway.
Smee said passersby notified the State Patrol around 2:30 p.m. Sunday that they had found the body off the road just west of Berthoud Falls in an area of switchbacks.
Smee said it appeared the truck was airborne for 30 to 40 feet before rolling multiple times. It was found about 500 feet from the road.
