Boyd LaVerne Milliken, 92, of Bozeman passed away Feb. 1, 2007. He was born in Alliance, Neb., on Sept. 23, 1914, to George and Violet (McAuliffe) Milliken. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Colorado where he graduated from Brighton High School in 1932.
He married Cecelia Casagranda of Denver on April 13, 1941.
Through the years he operated a truck rental business, was an apartment manager, and a parking valet at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Denver. Most of all, he enjoyed farming and raising dairy cattle.
His other interests included bird hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, and playing pool and gin rummy. One of the highlights of his travels was a trip to Ireland at the age of 89 with his daughter and son-in-law, Bev and John Holden, Kevin and Seanna. He was a lifetime member of Lakewood Elks Lodge in Colorado. He was preceded in death by Cecelia, his wife of 54 years; and sister, Betty Jean of Brighton, Colo.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly (John) Holden of Bozeman; granddaughter, Traci (Randy) Strang and grandchildren, Tyler, Kailyn and Haley all of Las Vegas, Nev.; and by sister Pat (Lee) Walker of Loveland, Colo.
Although Boyd only lived in Bozeman a short time, he made some very special friends, including Don and Carol Jepsen, and Mike and Dixie Lucero.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Lakewood Elks Club, 1455 Newland Street, Lakewood, Colo., 80214. Arrangements are under the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
