Charles R. Gilkey Jr.
Greeley resident, 65
Charles R. Gilkey Jr., a Greeley resident, died May 15 at Centennial Health Care Center. He was 65.
No service was held. There was cremation.
He was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Cushing, Okla.
Gilkey graduated from Brighton High School and attended the University of Colorado. He was employed in a variety of jobs including a licensed land surveyor, right-of-way agent for Public Service Co. and a city engineer in Aspen. He also had owned the Round-up Motel in Walden.
He was a former Presbyterian deacon and Brighton City Council member. He was a member of AA and a 32nd-degree Mason.
He is survived by two sons, Charles, Illinois, and Richard, Greeley; his father, Roy, Thornton; a brother, Frank, Akron; and four grandchildren.
