Kanouse, Charles "Chuck" Ray, age 74, of Newport Beach, California, passed away at Hoag Hospital on March 13, 2014 after a brief illness with his long time friend, Deborah Craig, at his side. He is survived by Arlene Kanouse, Bonnie Kanouse; four children, daughters Kim Bubon and Kelley Valdespino, and sons Kent Kanouse and Kerry Kanouse. Chuck was grandfather to eight. Chuck will be remembered as a lover of animals especially his beloved Bullterrior Zack. A memorial service for family and friends to be held in Longmont, Colorado at a date to be determined. -

Charles 'Chuck' Kanouse
Charles “Chuck” Kanouse, 74, passed away March 13, 2014, in Newport Beach, Calif. He was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Frederick, Okla., to Wayne and Arlene Kanouse. When he was 1 year old the family moved to Brighton. Chuck graduated from Brighton High School in 1957. In 1959 he married Bonnie Aschenbrenner.
He is survived by his children, Kimerlee (Robert) Buban, of Longmont, Kent (Deann) Kanouse, of Mooreville, Ind., Kelley (Eddy) Valdespino, of Mead, and Kerry (Alicia) Kanouse, of Dothan, Ala.; and eight grandchildren.
Chuck loved horses, golf and his dog, Zack, but most of all he loved his family. He was a member of Brighton Methodist Church and a member of Newport Beach, Calif., American Legion.
Private family services were held in Newport Beach, Calif. There was cremation.
