NASHVILLE -- Cindy Lynn Shelton Marker, 48, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2003, at home in Nashville, Kan.
She was born to Curtis N. and Rosalee Elliott Shelton on Dec. 22, 1954, in Independence. Her childhood years were spent in Derby and in the Denver area, where she graduated from Brighton High School, Colorado. At various times she worked in sales and later as a receptionist for Roadway Corp. She loved the farm life, the outdoors and every kind of animal, especially horses, her latest being 25 year old Tinker. Cindy was a member of First Assembly of God, Medicine Lodge.
On May 28, 1997, she married Thomas D. Marker at Wichita.
She is survived by her loving family: husband, Thomas D. Marker; a son, Jesse D. Marker and wife Natasha, and year-old granddaughter, Kierra Marie, Cindy's special angel, all of Nashville. In addition, she leaves sisters, "Mona" Kay Gasaway, of Wichita, Loretta Miller of Haysville, Linda Crites, of Attica, and Carmen Lesa Shelton, of Winfield; and brothers, E. J. Dickens of Derby, and Curtis Lee Shelton of Nashville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends in several states also mourn her passing.
Services are 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at First Assembly of God, Medicine Lodge, with Pastors Steve Todd and Marion Bishop presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be sent to Kingman Community Hospital, Oncology Department, in care of Larrison Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
