Pepin, ex-BHS athlete, dies at 21
Conner Pepin, a Brighton High School graduate who was about to start his last season of college baseball at Metropolitan State University of Denver, died over the weekend.
He turned 21 in mid-July. His grandmother died 10 days later.
Pepin graduated from BHS in 2015. Social media filled up with tributes Sunday night.
"Conner Pepin was always one to be there for you if you needed anything," said Desi Ramirez. "I am beyond blessed to have known him and been his friend. It hurts my heart deeply to know you're gone."
"Gone too soon," said Alaura Ward, also by way of Facebook. "You were doing great things at MSU with baseball. God gained another angel."
"Conner Pepin. You were one of a kind," said Taylor Edwards on Facebook. "Your smile always lit up the room. Now, you'll be lighting up heaven with it."
"I don’t even know where to start," said former teammate Ty Archuleta, also on Facebook. "The Pepin family was like family to me, and Conner has always been a brother to me. You always knew how to brighten up a room. My heart is heavy."
As recently as Aug. 6, Pepin was ready for his last year of college baseball at Metropolitan State University of Denver and eyeing sports management programs for the next school year. He was hoping to hear about a potential internship for the summer of 2019. His goal was to work for either the Denver Broncos or the Colorado Rockies.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
