UPDATE: One Motorcyclist Killed, Another Hospitalized Following Crash Near RELLIS Campus

tUpdate from Bryan police of Sunday crash on Highway 47 near the RELLIS campus:
Both vehicles, a Ford Escape SUV and Harley-Davidson motorcycle were traveling northbound in the 3800 block of Riverside Parkway/Highway 47.
The motorcycle struck the back right quarter panel of the SUV, causing the motorcycle to lose control and both riders were ejected from the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old male from Iola, TX, was admitted to CHI St. Joseph Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The passenger, identified as Crystal Mitts, 38-year-old female from College Station, TX, was deceased on scene.
Neither were wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the SUV was uninjured.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

Sunday shortly after 5:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 3300 block of Highway 47 for a major accident involving an automobile and motorcycle.
Two occupants were on the motorcycle, one was transported to CHI St. Joseph with critical injuries and the other occupant was found deceased.
The automobile had one occupant that was uninjured.
As of Sunday at 7:00 p.m., the northbound lanes of 47 south of Silver Hill are closed and traffic is being turned around. We advise motorist to turn onto Leonard Rd.
At this time the name of the deceased will not be released pending family notification.
The Bryan Criminal Investigation Division, Crime Scene Unit and Traffic Safety Unit are currently investigating the collision. There are no other details at this time and an update will be sent Monday morning.
