Edith ""Granny"" Hartley, 96, of Port Orchard died of natural causes May 27, 2001, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born June 17, 1904, in Stevenson, Ala., to Eugene and Maudie (Overholt) Barton.
She married William L. Hartley on May 23, 1923, in Denver. He preceded her in death in 1955.
Mrs. Hartley was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assemblies of God.
Survivors include a son, William of Port Orchard; a daughter, Velda Manning of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a sister, Agnes Mincer of Denver; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. An online memorial can be visited at www.rill.com.
