Gerald Dean Nichols, 80, of Severance, died May 6, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
Mr. Nichols was born Jan. 24, 1932, to Orville and Blanche (Vernard) Nichols in Weldona, Colo. He served in the Navy.
He worked for Hall Irwin as an aggregate salesman. Gerald was known for his ability to work on and fix most anything.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his sons, Russel (Colleen) Nichols, of Fort Collins, and Scott Nichols, of Severance; daughters Sheryl (Dale) Johnston, of Fort Collins, and Katherine (Scott Schmit) Nichols of Greeley; sisters Orvella (Harley) Scott, of Brighton, Delores Otzenberger, of Minnesota, and Betty Smith, of Sun City, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by “The Girls,” Jayla and Lucy, his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial celebration with military honors was held Tuesday, May 15, at Marks Funeral Chapel, 9293 Eastman Park Dr., Windsor.
