Helen Sigwardt, 79, of Greeley died Wednesday, March 23, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley.
She was born April 3, 1925, in Denver to John and Katie (Schwerdt) Case Sr. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1943 and married LeRoy Sigwardt on March 11, 1945, in Denver.
They lived and farmed in the Keenesburg-Prospect Valley area most of their lives. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, antique collecting and bowling. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who made meals and baked cookies and made everyone she met feel special.
Survivors are her husband, LeRoy Sigwardt of Greeley; two daughters, Debra Starks and Jody Seastrom, both of Greeley; five grandchildren, Michael Starks and wife Karilyn of Denver, Erin Starks and wife Carri of Longmont, Lisa Shaw and husband Chad of Greeley, Mandy Seastrom, also of Denver, and Stacey Seastrom of Fort Collins; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Shaw of Greeley, Jacob Starks of Longmont, and Kris Gerke and Mikayla Starks, both of Denver; three sisters, Mary Mollendor-Spohn of Holyoke, Rose Unrein of Brighton and Elizabeth Ann Wethington of Bedford, Texas; and four brothers, John, Lawrence, Leonard and Joseph Case, all of Brighton.
She was preceded in death by a son, L. David Sigwardt; her parents; a sister, Catherine Ann Fox; and two brothers, Jacob and Peter Case.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 1525 43rd Ave., Greeley. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the Adamson Memorial West Chapel.
