JAMES ALVIN MILLER, 58, of Security died Wednesday at his home after a long illness. He was a heating and plumbing engineer.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. 85/87, Fountain. A prayer vigil will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Fountain, 101 N. Main St., Fountain. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. G. James Brady officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Fountain.
Mr. Miller was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Brighton. He is survived by his mother, Marian Elizabeth (Amfang) Miller of Brighton. Mr. Millerwas preceded in death by his father, Joseph Miller. He had lived in the area 31 years. Mr. Miller attended Brighton High School. He served in the Navy four years. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Fountain, where he was a manager in the bingo program. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4636.
He was married Nov. 10, 1955, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Patricia Milam, who survives.
Mr. Miller also is survived by three sons, Robert E. of Fountain and James P. and Thomas W., both of Colorado Springs; a brother, John L. of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Karen Nichols of Madison, Wis.; and two grandchildren.
