Katie K. Yago, 91, of Greeley, passed away May 24, 2014, at her residence in Greeley. She was born on Dec. 4, 1922, in Brighton to Junji and Haru (Takeshita) Arakawa.
Katie grew up in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School. On July 22, 1944, in Kersey, she married George Yago. Katie was a bookkeeper for Meadow Gold Dairy. She loved her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed fishing and camping.
She was a member of the Greeley Buddhist Temple.
Katie is survived by a son, Norman (Barb) Yago of Greeley; daughter, Naomi (Jeff) Fitzgerald of Denver; grandchildren, Michelle (Ray) Vasquez of Greeley, Scott (Jen) Maricle of Boise, Idaho, Ashley Yago of Loveland, Kaylee (Justin) Dickens of Saline, Mich., and Kyle Yago of Greeley; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice (Leonard) Mizuno of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery.
