Leroy Eugene Sandoval
Nov. 30, 1945 — Aug. 7, 2005 Leroy Eugene Sandoval, of Thornton, formerly of Lafayette, died in an automobile accident Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, in Gardnerville, Nev. He was 59. The son of Luciano Sandoval and Mary Lucero Sandoval, he was born Nov. 30, 1945, in Brighton. He lived in Lafayette from 1971 until 1980. A graduate of Brighton High School, Mr. Sandoval worked for Town and Country Disposal from 1971 to 1978 and at Jack-N-Grill restaurant from 1998 to 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Desiree Sandoval, of Louisville; three sisters, Helen Sturges and Mary Herrera, both of Arvada, and Elisa Tafoya, of Moreno Valley, Calif.; three brothers, John Lucero and William Lucero, both of Commerce City, and Joe Lucero, of Lafayette; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Toni Gomez; and a son, Gabrial Ortega. A memorial servicewill be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the chapel at Darrell Howe Mortuary, 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette.
