Loweta Maxine Hicks
Loweta Maxine Hicks, 92, of Springfield, formerly of Richland, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Springfield.
She was born June 15, 1919 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Frank and Lucy Waggoner Minnick.
On June 19, 1943, she married Dale Hicks, who preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by a stillborn son June 3, 1945, and a sister, Helen Keeling.
She was a floral designer, was former owner of Richland Floral and Gifts, and was also employed several years at Colonial Funeral Chapel in Richland and Always Flowers in Lebanon.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Richland, later First Baptist Church in Camdenton, and most recently Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Dustin and her husband, Bill, of Nixa, and Diana Hicks and her friend, Susie, all of Springfield; two sons, Greg Hicks and his wife, Jamie, of Camdenton, and Randy Hicks, of Waynesville; a brother, Robert Minnick and his wife, Janet, of Iberia; two sisters, Doris Whitaker and her husband, Billy, of Brady, Texas, and Juanita Minniear, of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Olin Robertson, of Highlandville, also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for for Loweta Maxine Hicks will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with Nolan D. Carrier and Phillip Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, near Waynesville, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service at 11 a.m. at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel in Lebanon.
Memorials have been established to Fairview Cemetery, Autism Speaks, or Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, and contributions can be left at the funeral chapel.
