Marcella Wilson Trostel
Marcella Wilson Trostel, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on July 29, 2015.
She was born on a farm in Brighton, Colo., on May 30, 1926, to Arthur and Mamie (Harbison) Wilson.
Marcella grew up on different farms in the Brighton, Boulder and Henderson, Colo., area, also living in Missouri for a while.
She graduated from Brighton High School in 1945.
She married Joseph J. Trostel in 1947. Together they owned and built the Trostel Dairy Farm which operated for over 56 years.
She was a member of Denver Milk Producers, Mountain Empire Dairyman’s Association and Dairy Farmers of America. She helped the Dairyette’s at events and was a huge help for years, educating children at petting zoos.
Marcella was an avid chicken and horse woman, dog lover, hunter, outdoor woman, traveler and photographer.
Everyone she touched loved her generous and feisty nature.
She is survived by two children, Patrick J. Trostel (Linda) and Rhonda M. Mitchell (Robert); nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. “Grandma” will be greatly missed by her huge extended family.
Honor of her life will be held September 6, 2015, 1-4 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Firestone, Colo. ❖
