Mary Jean Bollig was born in Ellis, Kan., to Vincent and Minnie (Schumm) Brown. She grew up in Kansas and moved to Brighton, where she graduated from Brighton High School. After high school, she worked for Kuner’s and Great Western Sugar Co.
On Dec. 17, 1955, she married Jim Bollig in Brighton. They had six children. In December 2005, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Bollig was a homemaker and lived in Platteville from 1956-80. She moved to Wyoming in 1980. She loved to crochet and knit and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors: Three daughters and their husbands, Susan and Mike Shupe of Greeley, Judy and Frank Martinez of Platteville and Linda and Pat Magill of Longmont; three sons, Jim Bollig of Gillette, Wyo., Chris Bollig and wife Leatta of Fairview, Okla., and Scott Bollig and wife Kristy of Basin, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Her husband and her parents.
Memorial services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Lovell. Private memorial services later in Colorado. Cremation.
