Jr. Abeyta, MELAQUIAS 1/27/1936-1/14/2015 Melaquias 'Mel' Abeyta 78, was carried home to join our Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 14, 2015. Born in Sapello, NM grew up in Brighton, CO and was a resident of Henderson, CO. He will be remembered by his giving heart, happy spirit and great sense of humor. 'Handsome Mel' will be greatly missed! Mel was preceded in death by his parentsMelaquias and Eleanor Abeyta, granddaughter Brittany Vigil, brothers Dan Abeyta and Samuel Abeyta. Mel leaves behind his beloved wife Gloria Abeyta of 59 years. Five children Randy (Clorinda) Abeyta, Lorraine (Alfred) Perez, Valerie (James) Roth, Theodore (Jodine) Abeyta, and Cindy (Cisco) Uribe. Thirteen grand children, twenty-three great grand children and eleven brothers and sisters and several nephews and nieces. Services will be held January 23, 2015, 2:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 9371 Wigham Street, Thornton, CO 80229, reception following.
