Michael Schissler
SANDPOINT
Service for Michael L. "Mike'' Schissler, 47, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Sandpoint First Christian Church with burial to follow at Pack River Cemetery near Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schissler, who was born in San Rafael, Calif., died Saturday. He grew up and graduated from high school in Brighton, Colo., and in 1976 married Janeen Kaup.
The couple moved to Sandpoint in 1978, and in 1990 he started Schissler Construction Co.
He was involved with starting the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and a Habitat for Humanity subdivision called Schissler Meadows will be soon be created in his memory.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and supported local youth sports. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff Schissler of Sandpoint; and a sister, Kathy Gamble of Lafayette, Colo.
