Neil Carleton
Deputy district attorney, 69
Neil Carleton of Sterling, a deputy district attorney, died Saturday. He was 69.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Windsor. On June 10, 1949, he married Marilyn Wirth. She preceded him in death.
Carleton graduated from Brighton High School and earned a law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
He was a deputy district attorney for 20 years and practiced law in the 13th Judicial District.
He was a member of Phi Delta Omega fraternity, the Masons, BPOE No. 1336, the Shriners and Sterling Country Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Christy Blackert, Tempe, Ariz., and Cindy Smith, Louisville; two sons, Robert, Thornton, and Tom, Sterling; and six grandchildren.
