To the FallenBulldogs.com community:
It is my pleasure to announce that today, Tuesday, August 27, 2013, my website, FallenBulldogs.com, has reached its one year anniversary today!
It has been quite a journey for both me and the website. When I conceived of the idea, during the Class of 1982's 30th Class reunion, which I attended with my wife, I had no idea how many people's lives this little website would touch.
Since I announced this site a year ago, Fallenbullog.com has received 10,060 hits, which originated from 49 US states (Maine), 29 foreign countries, 7 Canadian provinces, and 6 continents (Antarctica).
One year ago there were about 200 memorials, as of this moment there are 811.
Throughout this endeavor there have been many people who let me know of the passing of a friend or loved one. That small piece of information makes all the difference in a memorial being there, or a Bulldog being forgotten. Your help is much greater than you know. There are many cases where this memorial is the only rememberance for a past BHS alum. Sad, but true.
There have been a handful of people who went even beyond that, providing me with dates, places, pictures, and even the loan of their yearbooks, also I could make this site better and honor the memory of our fallen classmates. You know who you are, and your efforts have made Fallenbulldogs.com so much better.
If you would like to help, I offer these suggestions;
1) Check to see if any Bulldog (if a person attended BHS, even for one day, they are a Bulldog) that you know has passed and has a memorial. If not, let me know.
2) Check your own (or your wife's, or parent's) graduating class; if you see that I am missing a lot of school pictures, consider loaning me your yearbook. I photograph the pages, and then have a copy to use at a later date.
3) Check the Yearbook Cover page. If you have a yearbook cover I am missing, consider sending me a scan or a photo of it. Having that makes the class page look so much better.
4) If you hear of a Bulldog who died, while living out of state, please let me know. These are the toughest Bulldogs for me to find out about.
5) Finally, if you come across an error, let me know so I can get it fixed.
Once again, Thank You! I really appreciate everyone's support in the past year and I will continue to do the best I can to keep this memorial site both going and growing.
Sincerely,
Bill Kretzer
