Mechanical engineer, 65
Robert R. Oehlkers of Brighton, a mechanical engineer, died April 18 at Platte Valley Medical Center. He was 65.
Memorial services were April 20 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brighton.
He was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Denver. On March 23, 1990, he married Kathleen Selwinder in Adams County.
Oehlkers graduated from Brighton High School and earned a degree from the University of Colorado.
He was employed at Gates Rubber Co. for 11 years and worked as chief engineer at Abex Industries in Chicago for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Deborah Kerstiens, Los Alamos, N.M.; three sons, Ron, Idaho Springs, Jeff, Greeley, and Mike, Golden; two stepdaughters, Tammatha K. Narula and Deborah L. Greenlee; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
