Robert Lewis Tyler, an accounting manager with Western Electric for 42 years, died Tuesday in Walnut Creek. He was 78.
The native of Brighton, Colo., lived in Tustin for 11 years before moving to Walnut Creek 21 years ago.
He served in the Army during World War II and enjoyed clam chowder and the Mills Brothers.
He is survived by his son, Michael Tyler of Walnut Creek, and one granddaughter. His wife of 47 years, Marjorie Tyler, died in 1993.
