Sally Margaret Solano
Sally Margaret Solano, 56, of Denver and formerly of Brighton, died at her home Feb. 8, 2010.
Sally was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Brighton, to Aurora and Pete Trujillo. She was raised in Brighto and graduated from Brighton High School in 1971. She married Robert Solano Feb. 14, 1994, and they made their home together in Denver.
Sally worked for the Animal Industry Division of the Colorado Department of Agriculture for 28 years as a senior lab tech. She and her lab were responsible for prevention and control of various livestock diseases in the Rocky Mountain region. Sally enjoyed travel with her husband, attended car shows, occasionally “going up to the hills” to visit the casinos and collected Southwestern art and Betty Boop memorabilia. Sally lived as she died, with strength of spirit, courage, humor, grace and tremendous love for her family. She inspired her family with her beautiful zest for life, kindness, courage, strength, and love.
Survivors include her husband; parents; stepsons, Moses Solano, Robert (Teresa) Solano Jr.; parents-in-law, Della and Ralph Solano, of Denver; sisters, Gloria Dominguez, of Denver, and Mary Jo C de Baca, of Brighton; brothers, Gerald (Debbie) Trujillo, Jim Trujillo, and George (Terri) Trujillo, of Brighton; and, sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Bob) Rodriguez and Frances (Ray) Martinez, of Denver; nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was Feb. 15 at Guardian Angels Church in Denver. Interment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge.
