Stan Sandoval - Dec. 9, 1939 — Dec. 16, 2010

Daily Times-Call, The (Longmont, CO)
Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Stan Sandoval passed on December 16, 2010, at home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on December 9th, 1939 to Frank and Rose Sandoval of Brighton, Colorado. Both of his parents preceded him in death and he fulfilled his father's wishes by coordinating the caretaking of his mother who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

He attended Brighton High School and graduated in 1958. He graduated from Parks Business School in 1960. He also attended 2 years at UNC and 1 year at Metro State. He met and married his wife Marie (Vigil) in 1961 and was married for 49 years. They have 3 children, Dr. Mike Sandoval of Longmont, Randy (Lori) Sandoval of Missouri, and Tanya (Ronnie) Klimecki of Longmont.

He enjoyed his family and loved being with his grandchildren Shanna Sandoval, Erika Sandoval, Lea (Ryan) McGonigal, Janti Klimecki, Jalen Sandoval, Dilyn Sandoval, and Evan Sandoval. He had a career in Finance at IBM for 30 years and retired in 1994. He prepared income tax returns as an Enrolled Agent for over 50 years and he ran the business out of his home for 35 of those years. He started a construction company in 1980 which he ran during the summer months building houses, patios, and remodels. He enjoyed working and was never idle. He co-started the youth wrestling program in Longmont in 1972 and it is still operating. He also coached a state caliber legion baseball team.

Stan's wishes were for a private funeral with immediate family. We thank you for all your prayers, cards, flowers, and condolences. It is greatly appreciated.

He was laid to rest at Foothills Garden of Memory on December 20th. Memorial contributions can be made in care of Heartland Enriching Life.
