Virigina Laurene Levister Burge

Virginia 'Ginny' L. Burge entered into eternal peace Nov. 21, 2012, at her home in Salt Lake City. She was predeceased by her parents James and LaVergne Levister; and her sister, Jamie Levister. Robert (Bob) George Burge, her beloved husband of 68 wonderful years, preceded her in death on May 13, 2006.
Ginny was born April 27, 1918, in Brighton. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1936 and married Bob in 1937. Ginny was the ultimate mother and homemaker. In 1952 she managed the home while her husband operated the family farm outside Ft. Lupton, Colorado. In 1957, she encouraged Bob to switch his career from farmer to scientist and they spent the next twenty years at DugwayArmy Proving Grounds on the Skull Valley Desert in Utah. On retirement, they returned to Colorado in care for Ginny's aging mother and sister. When Robert grew ill at the end of the century, they returned to Salt Lake City to be close to their daughter Janice.
Ginny was a member of the Episcopal Church and a Grand Matron in Eastern Star. Sheloved to fish in the Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah mountain streams and lakes. She enjoyed bridge and other card games, and loved to share stories with her children and grandchildren. Ginny was a great cook and will always be remembered for her angel food cakes and cream puffs. She had a sweet tooth, so dessert was her highlight at dinner.
Ginny was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always comforting to those around her. She always found the best in everyone and gave each person the most incredible accepting smile. Her loved ones will find she did not just pass away; because: 'Ginny will walk beside them every day; unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.'
She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her children, Janice Hulbert and John Robert (Bob) Burge and wife Panalee. Her adoring grandchildren are Robert Hulbert and wife Lori; Tifini Burge, Wylie Burge and wife Lisa; Joana Burge, and Christopher Burge. Her beloved great-grandchildren are Shayna and Nicholas (Nick) Hulbert and Scout and Reese Burge.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 22, 2013, at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton, Colorado, to reunite Virginia and Bob on their wedding anniversary.
