HARTINGTON, Neb. — Wilma D. Promes, age 73, of Hartington, NE died on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington.
Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Allen Leise, Jerry Leise, Larry Leise, Mike Promes, Keith Promes, and Gary Brewer.
Wilma was born on May 29, 1935 at Brighton, Colorado to Bill and Frances (Farmer) Timm. She grew up in Brighton on a farm and graduated from Brighton High School in 1953. She attended Denver Community College for 2 years. On May 26, 1962 she married George P. Promes in Denver. They lived in Denver for a short time and then moved to Lakewood, Colorado where she worked as a bookkeeper. They moved to Hartington in 2002 and she has been a resident of the Golden Living Center in Hartington since May 27, 2008. Wilma enjoyed her annual trip to Las Vegas and especially loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington, the Guild, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Wilma is survived by her husband, George, of Hartington; a brother, Robert Timm and his wife, Pam, of Holy Oak, CO; 3 sisters and their spouses; Helen and Robert Wilson of Lakewood, CO; Edna and Arthur Egan of Brighton, CO; Kathy and Jim Rose of Fort Collins, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Ann Rowe.
